- The two-base trip: Old Town nights then a coast week — the island's best one-two (itineraries);
- Return visitors drift south and north — away from the centre's density toward Nai Harn or Nai Yang, and rarely drift back;
- Book the base, wing the rest: high-season rooms need booking; everything else on Phuket negotiates day-to-day.
